Sports Massage
Sports Massage sessions can include any of the following; Sports massage, Deep tissue massage, Trigger point therapy, Myofascial release, Dry needling/acupuncture, Shockwave, Gait analysis, Athletic taping, Injury assessment and treatment, Exercise rehabilitation.
Sports massage is a deep form of soft tissue mobilisation and can be applied in a sporting and non-sporting context. It involves a wide range of techniques that include effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, frictions, kneading, wringing, hacking and trigger pointing. A sports massage is used for general relaxation of the muscular skeletal system as well as being directed towards any problem areas. Sports massage helps relieve muscular tension, break down adhesion's, mobilise soft tissues and reduce pain.
You can expect your practitioner to integrate advice, assessment, education and rehabilitation into all aspects of your life.
We will use a complete approach, considering the whole needs of the individual to allow optimal recovery and placing the patient at the centre of their own care.
Physiotherapy
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions affecting the muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, and tendons of the body. Common issues addressed include sports injuries, arthritis, post-operative rehabilitation, muscle strains, ligament sprains, and repetitive strain injuries, back and neck pain.
Treatment includes a combination of manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, education on injury prevention, and lifestyle modifications to help patients manage pain, improve mobility, and regain function in their daily activities.
Additionally, we work closely with patients to develop personalised treatment plans tailored to their specific needs and goals for recovery.
Respiratory physiotherapy focuses on treating a wide range of conditions that affect the respiratory system. These include, asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, pneumonia, and other respiratory infections. I also work with patients on breathlessness management whilst recovering from surgeries. Interventions often focus on improving lung function, clearing mucus from the airways, optimising breathing patterns, and enhancing overall respiratory health and function.
Neurological physiotherapy focuses on treating individuals with neurological conditions that affect the central nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. These conditions include stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injuries, among others. Neurological physiotherapy aims to improve mobility, balance, coordination, strength, and overall functional abilities in patients with neurological impairments. Therapeutic interventions may include exercises to enhance motor control, gait training, balance exercises, and techniques to improve muscle tone and flexibility. The ultimate goal is to optimise the individual's independence, quality of life, and participation in daily activities.
Dizziness can also be effectively treated through physiotherapy, which focuses on improving balance and coordination through targeted exercises and techniques. Physiotherapists may utilise vestibular rehabilitation therapy to address inner ear issues that contribute to dizziness, as well as gaze stabilisation exercises to improve visual focus and reduce symptoms of vertigo. Physiotherapists work closely with the patient throughout the session to create a personalised treatment plan that allows patients to manage dizziness in the long term and ultimately help them regain their sense of stability and well-being.
Relaxation Massage
The main focus of a relaxation massage is to de-stress, calm and relax the mind and body. A relaxation massage treatment will involve flowing strokes and kneading, performed at your chosen pressure. It's a pain free therapy and an effective way to de-stress and relax the mind and body and unwind.
It helps to increase delivery of blood and oxygen to the treated areas and can also be used in support of other therapies to assist in the rehabilitation of muscular injuries. And manage or cope with specific physical, mental or emotional problems. Many aspiring and professional athletes have massage before and after training and competing, in order to stay in optimum condition and aid recovery.
Massage can be effective in helping to treat certain chronic conditions, such as fibromyalgia and low back pain.

Animal Chiropractic - Canine (Dog) & Equine (Horse)
What is Chiropractic for dogs?
We all know dogs love to play, jump, run and are not shy of having fun! Sometimes (even minor) accidents like bashing into another dog, tripping over a tree, or repetitive movements, whether it’s highly trained agility dogs to simply playing fetch in the park or walking on the lead, can all have an impact on your dogs body.
Chiropractic helps to restore and maintain optimal movement, so your dog can continue to do these things whilst avoiding any pain and compensatory patterns, and also preventing injuries from repetitive wear and tear.
If you’ve noticed any of following, your dog may benefit from Chiropractic care:
Behaviour change
Postural Change
Injury
Reluctance to jump, get on the sofa, in and out of cars, or climb stairs
Difficulty standing, laying or sitting
Altered tail or head carriage
Pain, stiffness or sensitivity to touch
Irregular or changed gait, limp or lameness
Arthritic or other age related changes
Continued licking/ scratching on a certain area
WANT TO LEARN MORE?
It’s great to see chiropractic is being used more and more commonly along side traditional veterinary medicine, as an additional therapy to treat biomechanical and musculoskeletal issues. Chiropractic can also assist medical care in pre and post operative cases, commonly elbow and hip dysplasia in dogs.
Ultimately, we want to keep your dog as happy and healthy as possible!
